by: Alexandrea van Huizen Photo: Universal Music Singapore British boy band, The Wanted, recently released the audio for their new song titled ‘Walks Like Rihanna’. The song will be featured as the second single off their upcoming third album, which still remains untitled, that has set to be released later this year. The part of the song everyone’s talking about is the chorus that goes, “she can’t sing, she can’t dance but who cares, she walks like Rihanna”. As you can imagine, the biggest question on everyone’s mind is what exactly the term ‘walk like Rihanna’ really means. Well, no official word yet from the band so here’s my take on it. In my opinion, Rihanna is one badass mofo who will do whatever she wants, whenever she wants to. Just look at her on again, off again relationship with fellow singer, Chris Brown. Saying a girl ‘walks like Rihanna’ suggests that she exudes confidence and doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of her. I think the message behind the song is beautiful but I’m sure that The Wanted’s capable of better. However, being a sucker for catchy pop songs, I’m definitely downloading this once it hits iTunes. |
